There are more than 200.000 pilgrims every year walking to Santiago de Compostela on the Saint James Way. But why are all the people doing that?
We asked two pilgrims in Alfaro and got two really different answers:

"The Way for me is a personal challenge that I have been nurturing my whole life and now, after retiring I am able to accomplish it. It is also followed by a religious motif" - Manuel, 65, Barcelona
"I have walked the Way ten times starting each time from a different point. Why have I done it so
many times you´d ask? Because I love walking. I do it everyday in Italy" - Giuseppe, Torino (IT)
Every pilgrim has his/her own reason. Probably there are as many reasons as pilgrims.
¿Por qué hacer el Camino de Santiago?
Cada año más de 200.000 peregrinos viajaron a Santiago de Compostela utilizando el Camino de Santiago; pero ¿por qué todas estas personas hacen el Camino?
Preguntamos a dos peregrinos en Alfaro y nos dieron dos respuestas muy diferentes.
"El Camino para mi es un reto personal, que he estado alimentando toda mi vida, y ahora, tras la jubilación, soy capaz de lograrlo. También lo hago por un motivo religioso.." - Manuel, 65, Barcelona
"He hecho el Camino diez veces, cada vez empezando desde un punto diferente. ¿Por qué lo he hecho tantas veces? Porque me encanta caminar. Yo lo hago todos los días en Italia." - Giuseppe, Torino (IT)
Cada peregrino tiene su propio motivo. Probablemente hay tantos motivos como peregrinos.
